What is their Story?

They started as a team of engineers from IIT Madras who were at the forefront of representing their college and country in various robotics competitions across the world.  During their student life itself, they took up consulting projects to build prototypes for the inspection of overhead lines for railways, inspection of biscuits, inspection of raw rubber, identification of grain boundaries, classification of weld defects and auto-enhancement of images.

Starting with a seed funding of Rs. 6 lacs, they developed patent-pending technology for organization of images by identification of people, places, scenes and events in images.

What do they do?

HyperVerge uses the technology of Machine learning and deep-learning to analyze and process consumer images and videos on the cloud

Their upcoming mobile application (Silver) will help users automatically organize all the images on their phone. It utilizes deep-learning and convolution neural networks to recognize classify and process vast amounts of image data. These systems accurately recognize faces, scenes, documents, business cards and other patterns within images to categorize photo albums based on context. They also assist in identification and deletion of poor quality photos, duplicates and other unwanted photos.

What lies ahead?

HyperVerge has raised a funding of $1 million from US-based VC firms New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Milliways Ventures, and Naya Ventures. The funding is primarily to build their upcoming mobile application Silver and expand their technical team.
