The producers, with a given budget, depend on the data to make the following decisions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>What genre of movie to make \u2013 comedy, thriller, action, etc<\/li>\n<li>Start cast \u2013 basis their history of hits, flops, box office collection, awards in any given genre<\/li>\n<li>Date of film release basis past trends and current competition<\/li>\n<li>Which channels to use for marketing<\/li>\n<li>How many and which theaters to release the movie in<\/li>\n<li>Estimating revenue from 1<sup>st<\/sup> day\/week ticket sales and hence pre-planning of rights distribution to TV etc and many more.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And mind you these are all interrelated and interlinked. The commonly used analytics models in the movie and entertainment industry are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Multiple Linear Regression Model \u2013 E.g \u2013 Which factors influence the box office collections and by how much?<\/li>\n<li>Logistic Regression \u2013 E.g \u2013 Will the movie succeeds or not with a given combination of genre, actors, director, no. of songs, Switzerland scenes, etc?<\/li>\n<li>Time Series \u2013 E.g \u2013 to forecast the future box office collection based on past week trends<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Mandobasar Galpo is a movie-goers delight<\/strong>!
