Administrators are investigating reports that hackers got into Golden High School\u2019s computer system and changed grades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students say it\u2019s causing lots of confusion and frustration at the end of the first semester.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI think it&#8217;s pretty extreme and almost pathetic really,\u201d said Jamie Hamilton, a senior.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Investigators are looking into whether students hacked into the campus portal system, which is meant to give parents access to grades, schedules and attendance records.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cPeople started giving themselves A\u2019s,\u201d said Hamilton.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAnd everyone was getting accused of doing it,\u201d said Hannah LaFalche, a sophomore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Golden High School students say the hackers changed the grades for themselves and others just before winter break and the end of the first semester.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI didn\u2019t think students could get in so easily,\u201d said Brooke Palmer, a sophomore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students\u2019 reactions range from frustration to amusement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI think it\u2019s kind of sad that people feel they have to cheat like that,\u201d said Hamilton.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cPretty naughty, but I give them props for getting in,\u201d said a laughing Palmer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Administrators do not even know how many grades may have been changed. It could be low as 15 students or as high as 200.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students are now being asked to go back and prove what grade they should be receiving.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe teachers don\u2019t know what to do because they don\u2019t keep their hard files, they just keep them on the computers,\u201d said LaFalche.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students say teachers are asking them to bring back what they can; tests, notebooks, anything and everything.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThat was a big deal, having to bring back all of your homework,\u201d said LaFalche.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jefferson County Schools Superintendent Cindy Stevenson declined to go on camera for 9NEWS but says her staff is working hard to find out how it happened.
